Google changes attachment size to 25mb?
June 29th, 2009 by stuffaboutlife | Filed under Technology. The Google Blog is reporting that they have increased the maximum attachment size for Gmail accounts.
This is great if you’re sending a file to another gmail user, but keep in mind that many (if not most) of the other email systems on the planet will reject attachments that are larger than 10 mb. If I recall correctly, 10 mb was the default size limit on Sendmail and Postfix mail systems.
Email wasn’t really designed to be winging large files around. 3-5mb I can see, but a 25 mb file? That sounds like a job better suited to something like Dropbox.
