T-Mobile’s network NOT at 7.2 HSPA yet.

January 21st, 2010 by stuffaboutlife | Filed under Technology.

Despite some rumors to the contrary, T-Mobile has not actually upgraded their network to the higher speed 7.2mbps HSPA.

CIO Magazine has an article about it

“”[W]e are continuing to increase backhaul in-line with our network upgrades to support these faster speeds. We have not released additional details at this time, but I’ll keep you posted on T-Mobile network news as we have more details to share.”"

That’s about where AT&T is now with their upgrade. Both carriers have completed the initial software upgrades necessary to support 7.2 HSPA but they’re both still working on adding additional backhaul capacity to support the higher speeds.
