iPad data speeds – how are they?

May 6th, 2010 by stuffaboutlife | Filed under Technology.

One word: Great!

Screenshot from my iPad showing download speeds.

These were done around Fort Worth, TX. We’re one of the first markets that AT&T is upgrading to the faster 7.2 HSPA speeds, so things will get even faster. Still, 3mbit down for an iPad out in the middle of a cow pasture isn’t bad.

Also interesting to note – the default format for screenshots on the iPad is PNG.

EDIT: The app I was using was showing the WiFi icon for everything. They have updated the application to show 3G/EDGE or WiFi. Small but nice change.
