Not much going on today, so we are relaxing at Starbucks. You get a discount if you bring your own cup, and even more discounts for using a registered Starbucks card.
They have done a great job bringing about the “coffee shop atmosphere.” I have been to many ‘locally owned’ places over the years too, though. One of my favorites is Java City in Sacramento, CA but even they have remodeled and are more Starbucks like now. Still love their banana mochas, though…..

If you bring in your receipt from earlier in the day, you can get any drink for $2 after 2pm. “Your receipt must be for the same day, US only, not in Canada, all cold drinks (including all blended beverages)”
Too bad I tossed my receipt in the trash.
