Hulu on the iPhone/iPad!

June 29th, 2010 by stuffaboutlife | Comments Off | Filed in Technology

This is awesome. Hulu was one of the biggest reasons that pundits kept saying Apple needed to have Flash on the iPhone and iPad.

Today hulu released the Hulu Plus app and it looks fantastic.

$9.99/mo. But we still see ads. I’m not too keen on seeing ads, especially since I’m paying for hulu and paying for the bandwidth now too. The app looks great and works great on my iPad and my iPhone 3GS. Excellent quality video.

How AT&T can look awesome.

Very easy. Rollover Data. Right now people are upset that their new data plans will have a 2gb cap and they will exceed it. Just like minutes, data usage fluctuates for many people. How about allowing people to roll over a certain amount of data? Maybe cap it at 5gb. None of the other carriers have rollover, and AT&T could ward off a lot of bad press that way.

Come on, AT&T. What do you think?

AT&T changes data plans. They suck.

June 2nd, 2010 by stuffaboutlife | Comments Off | Filed in Technology

AT&T will be changing data plans effective June 7th. No more unlimited plans. They will max out at a paltry 2gb with an overage charge of $10/gb.

I am not happy about this at all, especially since it’s taking place so soon after the iPad launch. Looks like I will be keeping the $29.99/mo unlimited data package because if I cancel it, there is no going back.

I have used 4gb of data on my iPad in the past month. Mostly video watching and streaming music.

This is cool.

Support for video outputs. I’m surprised that the movie studios let that happen, but it’s a pretty cool feature.

iPad: two weeks later

May 14th, 2010 by stuffaboutlife | 1 Comment | Filed in Technology

I have owned the 3G iPad for two weeks now, and I still love it. It has come in handy in several situations that I never would have thought about using such a device before. There were lots of apps available for the launch of the wifi version but I have been seeing even more now that the 3G version is out. No doubt that we will be seeing more to come.
